Who Are We

The Metro Area Youth Foundation, Inc. (MAYF) is a corporation formed by members Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa Optimist Clubs. The Foundation has been granted 501(c)3 status by the IRS. Currently, the primary project of the foundation is an annual fundraiser to support Children with cancer and their families. We are not about finding a cure but providing the care and support families need at this difficult time in their child and family's life.

Why Was MAYF Formed

To unite the Metro Area Optimist Clubs in a common goal; Childhood Cancer Campaign. To create a foundation that is a 501(c)3 to allow for donations to be tax deductible. Allowing MAYF to raise  money to support children receiving treatment at Children's Hospital and Medical Center and The University of Nebraska Medical Center Pediatric Oncology Departments.

MAYF Goals:

• To provide financial support for joint service projects of the Metro Area Optimist Clubs.
• Provide financial and other support to children diagnosed and receiving treatment for cancer.
• Help families and care partners of children with cancer to meet the children's needs.
• Assist healthcare and service providers.
